Time to figure out what we want to run next, since the current season is almost over. What do you guys want to run? What kind of format? All input is appreciated.

The last series was a great hit and I enjoyed it immensely. How about an IROC series? If possible I would like to discuss other areas that make a good series choice. Like wear factor, pitstops or no pitstops, length of races, fixed setups and forced cockpit view to name a few. Wear factor usually goes with whether pitting will be involved. Pitstops give you a chance to gain or lose track positions, but along with pitstops come the ability to alter the fixed setup (tires & wedge). Some like that and some don't. And with no pitstops you can tell how the race will end early in the race. The view used by the admin loading the setup is the view used by all. I suggest a forced cocpit view so all users have to use it. I say that because some drivers use a near chase view which has blind spots and afew don't seem to care about a mirror or others drivers etc. A series that is truly identical. I believe the leagues goal is to have a series that is fun and requires minimum input to race and has equality across the board except for talent. I don't have all the answeres and some of this stuff is impossible to control. I'm not being critical. I am just giving feedback. I too enjoy NASR's success.

correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can really force views in Nascar Heat aside from the F1 view. IROC would be nice if the cars were higher poly, not to knock anyones modding but the mesh is just to low poly count for the curvy firebirds.

We've raced a certain IROC mod back in 2004, and that mod was very freaking cool. You have to remember back in the early day's modders produced mods with very low poly models, because we had low powered computers back in the day. Check out the WRS mod. Excellent mod that Raybee @ TMS created back in the early 2000's very low poly cars, (I think under 1,000 polys) and those models are freaking awesome for there time, and to do this day those car are run in leagues.

When I made that statement I meant the fixed setup series, not the league as a whole. We all know NASR isn't just fixed setups.

The first time we ran the IROC mod, we used NHRL's IROC Challenge, races were set up to end just before you would have had to pit on 2x wear. Some tracks required you to back it down some to save tires. As was said, it was fairly easy to tell who was going to win, especially on the larger tracks where the combination of the car, track and setup made everyone run pretty much the same speed and there was very little passing. From there we decided to add in a pitstop or two because in IROC, slight damage early in the race ruined your entire race, but with this also came the ability to modify the setup from the original given setting, and it also spread the field out more. Adding pitting also added in another way that someone could earn themselves a penalty.
The WRS mod was one of the two series we ran when we first started NASR. While it is a fun mod and will take tons and tons of abuse, I don't know that there is enough interest to run another series of it since NHRL struggled to get decent numbers to show up. We still have all the results and everything from our series and I don't believe our numbers were all that fantastic either. An updated WRS mod would be great but I know that's not even on Raybee/TMS's radar at this point with them being involved in updating the more in demand Cup and the other projects they've been working on.
At this point, we've tried most of the possible ways we could run things. For those of you who remember, we've also run the standard open setup 3x wear series in the past as well. This past series with the G2 Cup cars has been by far the best series we've run as far as turn-outs and the general feeling I get from everyone is that you all have enjoyed it and had some fun. That's the main thing we're after here but we have to have the right combination of mod/schedule/wear/setups to get to that goal.

Could always do a repeat performance with the same mod. Other choices I have are the Heat05(Nextel). Not that fussy of a guy, I just like to race!!

- IROC would be fun, lengths just short of needing a pit stop, but requiring one anyway.
- COTG2 2011 Cup with Open setups.

i would do a repeat of the cup series we are currently doing and have all the tracks we didn't run this time around as the schedule, it seems to be providing good turnouts to keep this league going.
either that or a legend car series that doesn't interfere with duster's league.

I'd be more inclined to consider that but I feel like this mod is currently being run to death. There are I believe currently 2 leagues running this mod and at one time we may have overlapped with a third. Nextel Heat 05 was considered before we ran a series with NH2k6. @duster: I'd consider IROC again if we can get the fields for it. We'd also have to dedicate more time into getting better setups made so we don't have so much of the follow the leader racing the first time around had. I think to this day the IROC series holds our record for closest finish. Open setup G2 would be fun and all but I feel that open setups are a hindrance to leagues that run during the week. I know almost all of us can come up with at least a decent setup for most tracks but I'm worried about the time some would feel the need to invest. @don: That's a possibility too I guess, as long as people are still interested in running this mod. I'll let the legends to Duster since he pretty much brought them back, I don't want to step on any toes. Maybe we'll be able to add more to this discussion after TMS decides to show the rest of their little video cliffhanger thing they have going on. I'm sure some of us here already know what it will say and show though..

either that or a legend car series that doesn't interfere with duster's league. Just ignore Don, hes in love with the legends while he has an entire race lead (30) in the points and has won 5/7 races this season!! And won the championship last with 3 wins! ;D

The nationwide cars are fairly fun to race but it's almost like people are less interested in running them when Cup is out there. Maybe if TMS realeases the trucks in time, we'll take a shot at those. NHRL running their own trucks may hurt us a little though since they'll be using different physics than the new G2 or whatever it ends up being trucks.

Ok, the way I see this is we have 3 options:
1. Continue with G2 Cup by running tracks this season didn't cover.
2. Wait for the new G3 stuff to come out
3. Run something not in the Platinum line.
Option 1 would get us back on the track faster than the other two, option 2 might have us running into other places trying to run the same thing as us at the same time. Option 3 may suffer from lack of interest and also take time to figure out what we'd want to run.
