Well lets get things going a little bit. Duster threw out the idea of running the Platinum Indy mod on ovals and one or two road courses. I'd like to know everyone's feelings on this via the poll above. Also you can post any other ideas in this thread to be discussed. As always, we thank you for your input and helping us keep things fun and interesting for everyone.

I said yes, but if Tuesday's remain part of the plan, I can't race. Take my vote for what its worth.

Tuesdays and Thursdays were this league's original two nights. Once we consolidated to one day a week, we went with Tuesdays because of larger field sizes. If there were enough people who could commit to running on another night that doesn't interfere with another league, we'd be open to moving the race day to accommodate as many people as possible.

I voted Yes, but maybe a later start time could be considered? Somewhere between 9:30 -10pm start time.

9:30-10pm is pushing it for a week night. I don't know if I'd want to be running that late into the night on a week night and others may not want to do that either.

I think we should go with something we haven't done before for next season.
The indy cars would be interesting because i don't think there's many who have any experience at all with them. I ran a few indy car races at speedsims but it was only on road courses, no idea how they are on ovals.
I would also suggest those little midget legend cars only if it didn't interfere with duster's series going on because those things are fun as hell and he seems to get decent field sizes with that mod. It may not be a good idea to run the same mod as another league is running though so might have to scratch that.
I ran a race at speedsims using the Nascar Legends 2 V2 mod, those things are very fun as well. You have the option of running the older style nascar's with the big wing on the back or no spoiler at all and they also can take a ton of damage and still drive great.

well if you wanted to go that route, if you waited for the mod squad to release their nascar legends mod, that would be cool too.
Indy cars are fun on ovals, but you should probably do some that are more than just foot down on gas for 50 or so laps. The new Milwaukee, Iowa, New Hampshire. Dover, Phoenix. . You could do texas california, or michigan, but I think they would be real boring.
As for ovals, they are a lil eaiser to drive than on road courses. Texas is super easy.
Just food for thought.

I agree with doing something new but also like Donaldson was saying, I myself haven't even downloaded the Indy mod so I really have no idea how they drive, what tracks we can expect the best racing from, things like that.
I also like the idea of the Nascar Legends mod but we'd be in a holding pattern until TMS decides it's ready to be released. I've been waiting on the new CTS mod from them for quite some time too, I just don't know which is expected to be released first since none of us on the outside knew of Nascar Legends until they posted that video. Perhaps Raybee could pop in here and maybe give us an idea.
Those little legends are a lot of fun, but with Duster running another season, I'd rather not step on his toes by also running the mod.
Whatever we do, it will be something this league has not raced before, just a matter of what.

I really have no idea how they drive, what tracks we can expect the best racing from, things like that. The IRL mod is very fun to race on either RC or ovals. On ovals you would want to go with larger size tracks 1 miler plus. Since they are very powerful cars. You would find your enjoyment on those type of tracks best. From what I've heard it won't be released for a long time to come, a lot more work has to be done with that mod. One mod I think you might want to consider is VTA aka Vintage Trans Am. That mod is still very popular and fun to race on RC and ovals. Try taking them for a ride around a few tracks. You won't be disappointed.

I wish every league could do these every week, but they sure are time consuming, happy to see that Spike still does them for SpeedSims after Blaxman started those! Yes it is very time consuming, we are a small community@ SpeedSims, but we all try to pitch in and help one another out, that's the kind of environment we have. Spike has been great by doing video's for several of our Special Events the last couple of months. Which reminds me, I'm going to have to ask him, to keep doing that for our Group C races that kicks off mid August.. Duster's idea of doing an IRL series is a great idea. We had a great turnout doing that series.. It's great fun, you can't go wrong with that mod.. Cheers and good luck with whatever you guys choose to do. Dave

Gotta go back to the original, circa 2008: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEVFjPkYvoEWe've come a long way since this was made. Don't forget, we did have the video re-caps for every race of our first 2 seasons (WRS and HC CTS) so it's not something that's out of the ordinary around here, I just don't have the time anymore.

PTC COT League, I guess I missed that, was that NASR? I don't recall a PTC league beyond their old LCH Dirt league.
Classic Though!

PTC's COT league (using the COT Advance mod) is where the current admin group and founding NASR members met, then left to form NASR when PTC went back to running dirt only. I'm not sure if PTC is still around but those of us who ran the COT league are still found between here and NHRL except for a few who disappeared.
