I rigged this up inside my old car, hopefully if everything works right and the camera survives, I'll post a youtube video for everyone. Attachments:

And for safety please tether the camera strap to the roll bar. You don't want possible flying objects inside the car. A tie wrap should do it. Good luck I hope to see some footage from it.

Trust me, it will be. That was just while i was getting things where i wanted them. It will be secured to not only the bracket but the bar also. I know the kind of beating it's going to take being mounted there and I'd rather it just get destroyed by vibration and not by flying into the side of my helmet or something.

Well the camera mount was a success and the camera worked well. The operator on the other hand did not. I ended up only recording 11 seconds of the pace lap because I couldn't tell if i had pushed the button down or not (racing gloves aren't very good for feeling small things like that). Hopefully next week I'll get the whole thing for everyone, even if it's not quite as exciting as last night (had to miss a pile-up).

I got myself one of those GoPro cameras and a roll-bar mount for it since the other camera didn't survive, so the next time I race I'll definitely have some video for everyone from my new car. I might also put it in my buddy's micro sprint car and post that for you guys too.

Well we keep getting rained out so I haven't been able to put the new GoPro in any race cars yet so I decided to have a little fun with it. I attached it to an old remote controlled truck I have and chased the dog around with it. The results were comical (unless you're my dog) Attachments:

Finally have some video for you guys. Once I get the ridiculously long cautions cut out of it and uploaded to YouTube, I'll post it for everyone

As promised (make sure to watch in HD): youtu.be/FRP7MqrmExU?hd=1See if you can identify the flying object. P.S. The first person who makes fun of me spinning on the last lap will be banned ;D

Cool Video ;D
The only object I seen flying was DIRT.
So you went from 2ND to where on that spin of yours?

According to the track's website I still finished 2nd but I don't see how. I'm pretty sure I was 3rd since that 28 car passed me and a couple of the other cars dropped out.
For the flying object, check around the 2:48-2:50 mark
I'll be uploading the feature race later today.

I would have to guess that it was a spring from one of the cars in front of you.

I would have to guess that it was a spring from one of the cars in front of you. You would be correct, it was the left rear spring from the 99 car. I had no idea what it was until under caution the corner flagman held it up. I'm just glad it bounced off my nose and over the car instead of into my window screen.
