How many of you would be interested in a special event race sometime during the summer? I'm thinking something like a 300 lap race at Bristol, or full length race at untally or untona, something like that. 1x wear, open setups. Anyone interested in doing something like this?

If we could get at least 10 or so people to do this and not quite halfway through it would be cool. I would stay away from the super speedways if its gonna be a full length race, remember the PTC untally race we did? That was one of the most boringest races, everyone was just out there cruising around by themselves for 2 hours. Bristol would be a good choice.

That race would have been fun if people would have been patient and now wrecked but in my opinion Bristol would be the most fun with a good field, but if only 5 people would show up, it's not worth the effort. So anyone who would be interested in doing this or even any race suggestions, post them here.

i had an idea of having a tournament setup. Sorta like the NCAA basketball tournament. It would only work if we had at least 8 drivers participate. You could do just 1 bracket or do a double bracket so people have another chance if they lose the first race. Maybe take the top 8 in points or something and setup by rank. Where the 1 seed vs the 8 seed and so on. and have elimination sprint races (maybe just 5% or 10%) all 8 drivers will race the first race and your really just trying to finish ahead of whoever your opponent is. So after the first race 4 drivers would get eliminated. 4 people would race the 2nd track with 2 drivers getting eliminated. and the final race for the bracket would be a 1 vs 1. if you decide to go with the double brackets you'd have the winner of bracket 1 vs the winner of bracket 2 in a 1 vs 1 showdown. I attached a file to try and show you what i'm talking about, you have to click to enlarge it. Depending on the amount of people who wanna do this, there's numerous bracket scenario's you could do, I'm just giving 1 example. You could have the final 4 as the final race, instead of 1 vs 1, you could give the # 1 and 2 seeds byes into the 2nd round automatically so if 14 drivers showed up the brackets would still work out evenly, the possibilities are endless depending on the driver turnout. another idea is to just do a all star race format which has worked in the past with the 3 segments and driver eliminations.
I think something like this or what i mentioned above would be a lot more fun for everyone involved opposed to just doing a 200 lap race where if you get wrecked early you more than likely will just end up quitting. a 200/300 lap race does have potential but it boarders on becoming boring really quick.

The bracket idea would be pretty interesting. I could definitely see some interesting strategy involved in that style as well.
I also like the normal all-star race format. The last time we ran it (pre-NASR) was pretty fun. We could work out the details for either one of these. Anyone want to give their opinions on either of thses (track/tracks, lengths, setups, etc)?
