The problem with fixed setups is and always has been that what is comfortable for one driver, may not be for another. Never once is everyone happy with any given setup. The key is to learn to adjust your driving for the setup but this fact alone seems to be keeping some people away.

i think fixed setups is the fairest way to run a race. i know everyone complains about fixed setups for that very reason of its not "comfortable". Personally this season the only setup that wasn't comfortable was the martinsville one, but you know that actually involves "practice" which no one does.
i guess you have to ask yourself this, would you rather run fixed setups and have it be the best driver wins and have closer finishes and lose by maybe a few seconds "or" have open setups and people with experience making setups completely dominate and you lose by laps instead of seconds.
which option sounds better to you?

I like the fixed setups for everyone, basically cause I haven't figured out how to set up a car yet.

I'm a fan of both open and fixed sets, but only when used in the right format. Fixed setups were chosen for our league because we're a week night league and people are busier. Fixed setups make it easier for people to run through the week. Open setups are great for when you have the time to devote to getting the car setup. What people don't seem to understand though is even though it's a fixed setup, you still need to practice with it. For some guys the setup will fit them better than others and they'll be faster unless you practice and figure out the way the setup needs to be driven. That can be accomplished fairly easily, especially when you aren't trying to adjust the setup to go faster and just focusing on your own driving.
