During the planning stages of this Madhouse series (and honestly the two series before Madhouse as well), it became painfully obvious to me that I no longer have the time to keep this place going. Multiple factors have come together to bring us to this point, not all of which are bad. Heat has seen an increase in league activity in just the amount of time that I've been racing online. It is now entirely possible to race every night of the week if you really wanted, and multiple times on some days. While as good as it is that Heat has reached that point, others inevitably fade away. Unfortunately it has become NASR's time to fade away as I can no longer justify dedicating the amount of time necessary to properly operate this league. Therefore, at the conclusion of the Madhouse series, NASR will hold a final league winner's only invitational race. At the conclusion of this race, NASR will cease operations.
I do wish I could keep this place going well into the future, but it's just no longer feasible. When Plmcrzy handed this league over to me, my main goal was to build upon the foundation he laid out and grow this place into a premier league. The definition of what a premier league is varies depending on who you talk to, but at the very least, I do feel like this league has made a positive impact on the Heat community. I'd like to think that the options Heat racers now have with where they want to race, what they want to race and how they want to race it is at least in some small way a result of our efforts here to provide something different from all the rest.
I'd like to take this time to thank everyone, from the people who just browse the forum to see what's going on, to everyone who participated in the racing here, and the administration staff, including those who were not admins here but stepped up when needed to help us keep this place alive. We've had a great time here with all of you and I for one will definitely miss it.
As far as my personal plans, you will probably be seeing less of me as time goes on with the time constraints I've been under. I plan to be available to sub for people when I can fit it in and possibly race for myself on occasion or maybe in a winter league. Unfortunately racing Heat on a full-time basis is no longer an option for me.
On a more upbeat note, the Madhouse details and sign-ups will be posted soon (I promise) and details are being worked out for our final race. Thanks again everyone for all your support over the past few years.
