After reading a humorous thread at another forum (pretty sure most of you know where), I was just wondering what you think of when you see NASR. Is it the identical setup system we've been doing since the Aero series, or the multi-mod series we ran? Just curious here.
If you're wondering why we haven't gone back to the multi-mod series idea, it's because of the amount of time that needed to be dedicated to it. At the moment I'm flying solo around here with the other admins tied up with real life. I personally would be open to another multi-mod series as long as the other admins had the time to dedicate to it as well.

Yea I read that humorous thread also. TBH I was never a big fan of fixed setups. But I have to admit this time around, I'm actually online more practicing for the events, figuring out ways to make the set work for me. And for a guy who likes to build setups, this way has been more of a challenge and a big difference. Plus the competition has been great! The multi-mod series idea I think was AWESOME also. But this time around I'm having MORE fun! Heck even us guys @ Speedsims are even thinking about maybe doing a multi-mod kind of road course series down the road when some of our new mods are released next year. That's how much myself and a few others have enjoyed it! ;D

Our reason for fixed setups in the beginning was all about time. Since we run on a week night, it's a little harder for some (I know it is for myself) to find time to make a good setup, so a fixed setup would take some of the time away in race preparation. Now the issue lies in the setups not fitting everyone's driving styles. I personally believe there's not a single setup that will please every single racer out there, but like you said, the challenge is figuring out how to drive the setup that's given. Not to mention that everyone is running the same exact thing you are so you don't have to worry about being beaten by a better setup, it puts things into the driver's hands and showcases who the best drivers are.
Yeah I ready you guys were thinking about doing a multi-mod series, which I'm sure will see a lot of participation, especially with brand new mods. I liked the multi-mod series a lot just because of the variety it had, but the workload was larger than we had anticipated.

Honestly I would agree with your identity being identical sets. You guys do those series best and have been doing it while no one else really does. Its a strong point to build on imho. Even when I do complain about the setups I should bare in mind you guys are using setups the league as a whole should like/ drive best.

I consider this league as one of the best leagues to race in with some of the best drivers. To me this league is simply another top notch league that runs on weeknights. I get a chance to run the drivers that I respect that cannot run NHRL's weekend schedules. Having fixed setups is a time saver for those that spend alot of time on building and practicing open sets. This league is not defined by fixed setups. It is defined by the competition and the camaraderie.

Considering in real nascar, there is only so much they can do with the car anyway. I see a mainly Nascar based league with the ability to go outside of NASCAR just because it is worth trying.

You guys have given me the chance to race with some old friends who I haven't raced with in years, and I've enjoyed the competition plus the camaraderie, plus I get to race along with guys that I race with on a normal basis. The time has been great for me. Makes me stop working on other projects for a few hours and come out and race during the week and just have some plain FUN!! Keep doing what your doing!!

To me NASR is an individual league. We don't conform to the NORMAL league standards therefore we really don't have any ONE thing that defines us. We have done things that other leagues would either never attempt or even better yet try to copy, which I must admit is flattery to the NASR. We've done fixed sets, we've done multi-mods, we have used mods that noone else uses, we have done an open/fixed set series, we're now expanding into team points and team championships, we've introduced rules that have been incorporated into other leagues rulebooks.....so when I think of NASR and all the different and out of the realm of normal, league accomplishments we have done, I think the only word to describe us.......UNIQUE

If you're not changing, you're falling behind. Some have criticized us in the past for never sticking with one thing, but I'd rather keep things fresh and interesting instead of getting stuck in a rut.

when I think Identical Setup, I have to immediately think of NASR. Atleast this is the point I was trying to convey without making myself look like an idiot, I failed but oh well. I was trying to say that when you think of our league you think of yellow flags.
Glad you guys understood this...

Yeah, I knew what you were getting at, it's fun to watch things go sometimes on forums though. Anyway, it seemed to me everyone was enjoying this series for the most part and it's sometimes good to hear why exactly that is so we can further build upon it.
