I should be available every evening this week if anyone wants to organize a large practice session for Daytona.

I should be free from 6:30 or so until around 10 up to race night, so anywhere during that time any night should be fine for me

If racers wish to use the hood view instead of cockpit view be sure to put 'cothoodnf' in chassis of the Drivers file of their car. Me and Blaxman deduced this only works if the majority of the racers on the server are using this view with identical setups though, so if the majority of racers are using a cockpit view then thats the view you will have as well.
Rookie IIRC the pole qualifying time @ RR's Daytona race was 44.9's

Yeah 44.9's seem to be the pole time target.
My understanding on how the chassis works in relation to identical setups is it uses the chassis of the person who issued this identical setup command, not a majority of what people may be using. This is evident if you've ever run with us during an identical setup series using the HC CTS mod, since there are 3 very different looking models. When I gave the command, everyone was using the Ford model, but when Donaldson gave the command, everyone was running the Chevy model.
I can change my chassis to the hood view one but I need to know if anyone out there is using the cockpit view. I don't really want to disadvantage some drivers for others to be more comfortable. I guess you could make that same argument the other direction too but I need to know if anyone uses the cockpit view and if so, are they ok with using another view.

I only use cockpit view for when I'm racing RC full time. Here I run in near chase view. Now for tracks like Daytona, I use near chase view and chassis view aka xray view (per Blaxman). And the way you guys do it right now is PERFECT for me. I hope you don't change a thing..

The "chase" view is always in the game so if you use that then you'll still have it. The issue is between the "hood" view and the "cockpit" view. I vote we stick with the cockpit view since that is what we have been using. I petitioned for the hood view at WG but that didn't happen. My opinion.

Well considering I have yet to see anyone other than Dave say they actually use the cockpit view, I'll switch to the hood chassis. If anyone is using the cockpit view and has yet to say anything, we'll find out then who that is and make a decision from there. Really to me, I feel like if you can race in the cockpit view, it should be an easy adjustment to the hood view.

I always use the Cockpit view and to me there is a difference driving in cockpit or hood view. For one, in hood view you dont have the advantage of the steering wheel movement because you can't see it. I've only driven Hood view once and it was disasterous. So I'm with Rookiesrock on this one. Besides, IMO,you can see cars to the right and left of you,as they pull up beside you, sooner then you can in the hood view. I could tell when we were practicing, that was also the case when attemping to pass whoever was in hoodview.(i cant remember who it was , possibly spike).

Actually it's not that much sooner than you think as hood view camera is actually on the roof just a few inches ahead of the driver. The only issue I see with the hood view is there's no gauges, other than that its a far superior view as you can see much more of the road and vehicles in front of you. It's alot less 'sim' with the hood view though. As long as you have the rear view mirror FOV set to 130 or more you can see more of the cars coming up behind or beside. I've been using the chase view all week trying to get used to it so if I wrecked you, sorry, I usually don't use that view for superspeedways so it took a while to get used too.

We'll leave the chassis as is for tonight's race and the rest of the season.
