In light of the penalties that were given out at Infineon, I will go over what will be penalized at the Glen now so everyone understands things before race time. On the attached map, a single tire touching the grass in any of the red areas will result in a one (1) point penalty. Any area that is not marked in red will not bring a penalty if a driver gets off course there. You will be penalized for going off in the red areas regardless of what damage you may or may not have. Damage will not be an excuse for going off the track. The rumble strips as always will be counted as part of the racing surface and will not draw a penalty for using them unless a tire goes over and onto the grass. There is no lenience for the amount of cuts you can have before drawing a penalty, every single cut will result in a penalty. You have been warned. Attachments:

Exit of the outer loop is ok? Yes, feel free to go as far out into the grass on the exit of the outer loop as you wish, I'll let the wall hand out penalties for me.

not bad. But I am assuming there is leniency if someone's car breaks loose under braking and he clips the grass and that sort of stuff? hardest bit for me will not be clipping the chicane right

This would create judgement calls and controversy, so just stay on the track. Not that difficult. If you're scared of getting penalized, slow down and don't run off the course. Remember, each penalty is the same as placing one position lower.

I think it is clear what justin is doing. He is trying to make sure people arent jumping the curbs and putting tires in the grass all over the place. Though, one tire in the grass thats a bit steep.
Clearly Justin isnt going to penalize someone if they were loose or tight and run off, he is penalizing those who gain a clear advantage. Not those who make driving errors...

I wouldn't count on leniency in any form. Loose or tight is under your control. Now side by side racing might permit leniency but again I wouldn't count on it.

I told justin I would post my setup I ran at Rev to see if there is anything that can go into the FFS set that would make it faster and more stable Attachments:

I told justin I would post my setup I ran at Rev to see if there is anything that can go into the FFS set that would make it faster and more stable I'm all for a more stable setup.. But a faster setup.. No way. Took a quick spin. With the way the rules are, and if you don't want to get a pen (remember 1 point can result in loosing a position in race results.) With driving WG the average person will lose 2 seconds off there normal pace. So with that in mind, YOU do not want a FAST setup. What you want to focus on is having a stable setup, that is NOT loose, but one that is stable and comfortable. Also focus on creating a setup that will work for EVERYONE.. Not just the fast guys. Remember you WANT people to come race, and have fun. You create a FAST and loose set, most guys would be scared they will get a pen because they can't drive it, and will say screw it, might as well just skip the race. So please focus creating the setup to be stable and easy to drive FOR everyone.. Oh, and easiest way to practice for this race, without getting a pen, is very easy. FOCUS keeping 4 tires on the pavement. hehehe It does work. Yes it can be hard if your use to driving it differently, but with a little bit of work and practice it can be done, and it's easier to try focusing that way, to get use to running with a fixed set. Remember: A little bit of patience and care goes a long way!!
